Our Story

On Feburary 16, 2015 fate brought Project Manager Dimitri Petrov (34) and Marketing Manager Stephanie Cortez (29) at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Russia during a Corporate Party/Phantom of The Opera Event for the company Alcoa. Both smitten by each other the moment they met, they were quick to start a conversation. By the end of the event, they both exchanged contact information and continued to be inseparable ever since. Continuing to see and visit each other by flying over from Moscow (Dimitri’s hometown in Russia) and Albuquerque (Stephanie’s hometown in the United States) year round until January 11th, 2016; Dimitri Petrov finally got down on one knee on their road trip to Glacier Park Montana and asked Stephanie for her hand in marriage. She said yes, and the rest is history.

They both share the love for traveling, being around nature, having a soft spot for animals, and dinning and dressing up at luxurious Restaurants all around Europe and Asia. Dimitri loves taking part in charitable events, is passionate about fitness, and enjoys cooking and trying new recipes on his free time. Stephanie loves crafting and designing new clothes and jewelry, dancing, and spending her free time in the animal shelters and collecting food at the Road Runner Food Bank. Since their strong love for nature and fine dining, they decided to hold the wedding at Stephanie’s home town with the perfect setting of the Sandia Mountains as the backdrop and rich New Mexican food.

I have had the privilege to learn more about the couple and fell in love with their vibrant personalities and love for each other and passion about life. They were quick to discuss their choice of venue and vision of their wedding. The venue they decided to go with was at the Botanic Garden at the BioPark, perfectly matching their personality and lifestyles. Their overall vision they entailed to me, was that they wanted to focus on having tall and high rich floral centerpieces, accent furniture, top of the line food, fine china with chandeliers, and stunning animal floral sculptures. As I listened to the desires and request from the couple, I decided to organize the main target of the wedding into eight categories: attire, accessories, anticipation of their wedding set date, arrival, atmosphere of the ceremony and reception, food selection, amusement, and appreciation for attending their precious wedding.
